Jacob Visits John Legere, T Mobile CEO

  • John Legere, CEO of T Mobile, is well known for his crazy antics on a Facebook show called "Slow Cooker Sunday" which he posts every Sunday no matter where in the world he is.  Jacob has admired John's business acumen as well as his high energy personality for several years.  John even has one of Jake's paintings hanging in his home in Seattle where T Mobile is headquartered.

Recently, John invited Jake to be part of his show, filmed at his new home in Naples, Florida.  Houston's family friend, Dave Carey (#2 man at T Mobile), filmed the show and added comments with John throwing many plugs for Jake's art as he proceeded with putting together his slow cooker dish.  Over 5 million people had viewed the show within 48 hours.  Jacob was ecstatic as he later spoke of this fantastic visit where he was able to chat with John Legere at length and to see his new mansion.  It is a day he won't soon forget.

If you would like to see the video, it is on Facebook under "John Legere" (scroll down to January 19th Slow Cooker Sunday).

One of Jacob's favorite places to eat is Steiningers on Main Street in Salem, NY where he gets to see his print, "Tasteful Steiningers" on the wall. His usual order is turkey on croissant followed by a scrumptious fudge topped sundae made with famous Steiningers homemade chocolate.

Grace Griffis Scholarship Winner

At his high school graduation, Jacob was honored to receive the Grace Griffis Scholarship Award. The scholarship was given in memory of Grace, who was an incredible person and a gifted artist before her untimely death. Mackenzie Rouleau and Kate Morse said, "Jacob really is the perfect person to win the first Grace Griffis scholarship. A gentle and sweet guy (we won’t get any mushier than that, Jake, we promise!)  with incredible talent, he embodies so many things that Grace did. After all, the scholarship was to be awarded to “a graduating senior with similar artistic interests as well as a strong background in community service,” and darn it if Jake doesn’t fit the bill perfectly."
